Pony

On Monday, we took the little girls to an "urban farm" for an outing, and among many other fun things, Miranda had her very first pony ride. In fact, she got two pony rides (not at the same time). She also petted and fed little baby goats and sheep, held and petted a guinea pig or two, saw a very big pig (she's still talking about how big that pig was!), ate a picnic lunch, went on a tractor ride, and had a very big play outdoors.

Pictures will eventually be sorted out, I'm sure (at the moment, the gallery isn't open for technical reasons; I need to catch it up!).

Good observation

Miranda was talking to me about chatting online with someone. I said, "Well, the next time she's on and you're at home, you can talk to her. I'm sure she'll enjoy that."

Miranda said, "Yes, and maybe I can give her a hug!"

I said, "Yes, you can send a hug."

Then she added, "But her picture is too small to hug."

So there you go.

Piano

Nanna was playing the piano, practicing a piece she needed to go over for a performance.

A little while later, Miranda turned up in the room where I was, looking dejected.

"Nanna won't let me talk while she's playing the piano!" she lamented.

I told her that was quite right, that we don't talk while people are playing, but she still looked terribly put out and said sadly, "But I wanted to talk to her..."
