Why?
Miranda and Dad were washing their hands prior to doing violin practice. Dad turned off the taps and turned the hot water off before the cold.
Miranda: Why did you turn off the hot one first?
Dad: Well.... I have to turn one off before the other, I guess.
Miranda: But WHY?
Dad: I don't know. Why did you pull down your left sleeve first?
Miranda: It is my right sleeve.
Dad: Yes, but WHY that one? Why not pull down your right sleeve first?
Miranda: Should I pull down the right one first?
Dad: *bursts out laughing*
Well
Miranda has started to answer most questions with the word, "well". It's kinda cute, really.
Early this morning, Miranda came and got into bed with us, something she hasn't done in a long time. I don't know what time it was, but it had to be before 6am.
Later, I asked her, "Why did you come and get into bed with Daddy and me?"
Miranda: Well, it was comfy!
Later in the day, I got a craving for a hamburger (no reason, I just felt like one). So I got out my wallet to see how much money I had. Miranda asked why.
Me: I want to see if there's enough money in my wallet to go to lunch.
Miranda: There is.
Me: Hmmm... [counting] Not sure if that's enough for both of us...
Miranda: Well, I'm hungry. We can't just stand here with our tummies rumbling!
I'll do it after....
Miranda fell asleep in a place that wasn't her bed. Her dad went to take her to her own bed and picked her up, rousing her just enough that she was talking in her sleep.
She was insisting, "I'll do it after. I said, I'll do it after!"
Beauty
Miranda is a clever little kid. Sometimes a little too clever...
We went out today to get some things from the grocery store and as we were leaving, she spotted a store in the shopping centre area and this is the conversation that followed:
Miranda: What do they sell in that shopped called Hair Beauty?
Me: Probably hair care products.
Miranda: And makeup?
Me: Probably not. Not in a hair care shop.
Miranda: But it says BEAUTY. I think the have makeup, too.
