Oh, there you are...

I slept in on Saturday, while Andrew got up with the little kids. After a while, Miranda came to look for me. She stuck her head past the bedroom door and said, "Oh, there you are! You must be stuck in there or something."

And modest...

I was very exasperated with the kids by the end of the day, and said to their father, as I was busy scrubbing the floor to remove the paint Zoë had spilled on it,, 'Will you please take these children to bed?!"

Some time later, Andrew went in for the umpteenth time to tell them to settle down and go to bed, and he opened the door with a bang and said, "What's going on in here?!"

Miranda: Will you please take this child? (referring to Zoë, who was in Miranda's bed with Miranda)

Andrew (unable to keep from laughing): Okay, okay, that's pretty funny.

Miranda: Yes. And it's clever, too.

Getting better

Miranda is feeling better today. She had a bowl of Cheerios for breakfast and informed her grandfather this morning that she was "still sick, but getting better". No sign of the fever, today, either.

Whatever it was, it was apparently short-lived, because she seems to be over it already. I guess that's what they call a 24-hour virus or something.

Not feeling well

Miranda's not been well today. She had very little breakfast, although she was in good spirits in the morning when she went with her grandfather to music therapy (it's an interactive music group for pre-school age children). She did go and have a little lie-down at one point during the session, and he thought that was odd, but didn't realize she wasn't well.

She's had a high fever since around lunch time (she didn't eat lunch, although I did make some for her), and then she had a bit of a nap. Her fever's down now, but she's still hot. She's currently tucked up in a recliner with a pillow, a very light blanket, and a juice-in-a-box (the kind you poke a straw into).

She reports that her throat hurts. I haven't had a look yet, but I've been waking up the past few days with a lot of post-nasal drip (lots of hacking and coughing when I wake up), so I'm wondering if that's what's bothering her, as well.
