Is it you?
Miranda: Is it you?
Me: Yes.
Miranda: Is it you?
Me: Of course it's me.
Miranda: Good. It's me, too!
Don't say that word!
I don't swear a lot in the presence of the kids, but I have a couple of expletives that I use when I'm particularly annoyed. Miranda picked up one of them and used it perfectly in context, but we try to discourage that sort of language from three-year-olds, of course, so we told her on several occasion, "Don't say that word. It's not nice."
Yesterday, I was working on something and got to that level of frustration and annoyance which sometimes prompts me to utter said expletive, and I did. Miranda was nearby and she said to me sternly in her baby voice, "Don't say that word! It's not nice!"
And right she is, and I told her so. I'll have to work harder and not letting my tongue slip, but if I do, you know that miss Bossy Boots will be right there to remind me...
