Language and other matters
Miranda's speech is developing very well. She's now having full conversations, with questions, pauses for responses, answers to other questions, and so forth.
She's also very polite. She regularly says "thank you", "please", "sorry", and "excuse me".
Her biggest problem at the moment is that she has real problems with propositions, and can't really tell the difference between "in" and "on" among others. We've been reading "Fox in Sox" to her to try to help her understand, but so far she reads it but doesn't entirely get the whole preposition thing.
She also doesn't entirely get the way possessive pronouns are used. She says "my" when she means "any" (as in, "Put it on my desk," which of course isn't her desk, it's my desk). She understands "Miranda's doll" or "Mama's keys" or whatever, but the pronouns do seem to elude her, as do gender pronouns (she often says "him" instead of "her", for example).
In other matters, she's still getting out of bed and getting into ours regularly. I wouldn't mind it if it was only in the morning, but she usually gets up at some point in the night to get in our bed, which is small and already has two large adults in it. She's perfectly comfortable, but both said adults end up with sore backs and stiff necks...
